Summer Road Trip 2026

Utah Bound! Our Summer 2026 Road Trip

Rob & Leesa’s Great Utah Road Trip 2026

Two people. Seven destinations. Twenty-seven nights. One compact SUV packed tightly enough to defy the laws of thermodynamics.

Sunday night, Rob (that’s me) and my wife, Leesa, officially hit the road for our grand summer odyssey. If you look at the itinerary, it reads like a perfectly planned vacation. If you look at us, it looks like a high-stakes psychological experiment to see exactly how long two people can share 50 square feet of moving metal before someone snaps.

Our official, wildly optimistic, and highly subject-to-change flight plan:

  • Klamath Falls, Oregon (2 nights) – Where we test if we remembered how to pack.
  • Reno, Nevada (1 night) – A quick stop to see if Lady Luck favors the brave.
  • Las Vegas, Nevada (3 nights) – Where Leesa will try to keep me away from the buffets.
  • St. George, Utah (8 nights) – Eight whole days. What could possibly go wrong?
  • Moab, Utah (4 nights) – Entering the red rock wilderness.
  • Park City, Utah (7 nights) – Luxury and mountains, assuming we are still speaking to each other.
  • Boise, Idaho (1 night) – The final stretch before reality catches back up.

The manifest includes a staggering number of National Parks, National Monuments, and State Parks. Leesa tries to keep up with Rob’s color-coded spreadsheet. I have a travel pillow and a playlist of 80s rock that will undoubtedly test the structural integrity of our marriage by hour four.

Will the car melt in the desert? Will we get banned from Utah for arguing over navigation? Who knows what adventures—or roadside breakdowns—we will encounter?

Buckle up, place your bets, and check back soon to see if we actually make it past the Oregon border.
